Piercings: 2 in each ear, navel, side labret.
A fair amount of people ask me if having the side of my lip pierced affects my voice acting and the answer is: only for the first 2-3 weeks while it was still healing---because your lip will naturally swell up a little and you have to get used to the feel of metal inside your mouth. Once the swelling has gone down and you get more comfortable with it, it basically feels as if nothing is there. I got it pierced two years ago I believe, during January because work tends to slow down a lot then and I knew I wouldn't be recording very much anyway. But I do have to use the plastic style backing rather than the metal one because anything metal that clanks against your teeth can possibly be heard on a studio recording where the mics are very sensitive.
Tattoos: Two so far, both of them being stars---which coincidentally, has always been my favorite shape.
The first one is a pink star on my upper back/shoulder area. It's the birthmark all the Joestars (protagonists) have in my favorite series, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Before you call me a huge weeb for getting a tattoo based on an anime/manga, know that this series changed my life in multiple ways and actually shaped who I am as a person, so it's pretty important to me. Got it around 3 years ago.
The other one is a black star on my right wrist. I got it almost a year ago, soon after my favorite musician, David Bowie, passed away. I decided that it would be a fitting tattoo to honor him with since his final album was called Blackstar and has that symbol on the cover.
As of now I don't feel the need to get any more body mods, but if I did get another tattoo, I'd probably like a red and blue lightning bolt, which would be another one in honor of Bowie. It was one of my considerations originally to have the black star with the lightning bolt going through it, but I decided on something more simple.

Cool! I've just got my ears pierced (one hole each), but they come with a fun story that has a good moral. I got my ears pierced however-many-years ago as a kid (10? 11? years old, maybe?) at one of those ear-piercing-gun mall places. Followed the instructions, kept the earrings in for the month or 3 months or whatever they said to do. Took them out. Wore earrings normally. Piercings closed. (I mean, they were still visible, but closed *inside* so I couldn't wear earrings.) Went back, either to the same or a different mall piercing store (shudder) to have them re-pierced, and ended up with TWO HOLES in the back of each earlobe, with the one hole in front (envision a Y-shaped tunnel. Kept earrings in way, way way longer, like 6 months or something (can't recall, but it was at least 2x as long as before.) Took them out. Wore earrings normally. You're probably way ahead of me -- the piercings closed again! Flash forward to I think 2 or 3 years ago, and I looked up if anything could be done about my stupid ear piercings. I found out that those piercing guns are actually supposed to be pretty awful, so I went into an actual tattoo parlor and the very skilled person there was able to use a piercing needle (which BARELY hurt compared to the gun!) and re-pierced my ears for me, going through the "best" holes in the back. So now, because I'm afraid that my ears would just re-seal themselves, I keep studs in them at all times, only taking them out on rare occasion for no more than a day or two, or to wear different earrings of course. And the moral of the story -- even if you don't want tattoos or fancy piercings, I'd HIGHLY recommend even getting "regular pierced ears" at a tattoo parlor instead of the mall! *looks at post* Wow, I talked longer than I thought.

Oh nooooo! Yeah it's always best to go to a legit place that's not in a mall. Piercing guns are bad.

I don't know if I would get any piercings other than in my ears (barely wear anything there anyway), but I have at LEAST three tattoos I want. A renegade star for Mass Effect, a stylized graffiti dragon from Dragon Age 2 on my thigh, and maybe a red dragon on my back. I'd probably get a song lyric or a few as well, but I don't know. I'd love anything watercolor. Depends how well I take to tattoo guns, honestly. Whenever I get around to it!

Quite jealous of you LadyStardust having tattoos. I'm not so bothered about piercings (although when I was a teenager I wanted a lip piercing like that singer out of Linkin Park) but I really fancy getting a couple of tattoos. It'd have to be something meaningful and geeky. I'm a big fan of Dark Souls, because of it's atmosphere and that sense of hope it gives you. Because of that I think a bonfire tattoo would be cool. And I'm quite big on my ancient British history, so I'd want to get some sort of Celtic/Britonic/Anglo-Saxon related tattoo. I'm just so indecisive! Arghh. One day I'll get one. totalspiffage A Mass Effect tattoo would be awesome. Although with the renegade star I'd be worried about personality changes - you might start punching news reporters and random people.

What a fun thread!! I'm not a piercings person, but I have 5 tattoos, and 8 more planned. These are tattoos I have so far (in the order I got them): 1 - blue/green comedy/tragedy theater masks in the small of my back 2 - black outline of skull with a medical "+" symbol in its forehead below my belly button 3 - purple "ohm" symbol on the back of my neck 4 - blue/green art deco-meets-modern apple on the insight of my right forearm (drawn by a nifty dot-line graphic artist in Brazil) 5 - dot-line-style purple flower with eyes on the inside of my left forearm (drawn by the same Brazil artist as the one of my right arm) Let me know if you'd like pictures + I'll be happy to post them

Left Ear: 3 piercings Right Ear: 1 piercing
I've been debating about a helix piercing on my right ear for the longest time... One of these days I'll do it, but I'll probably need a friend to hold me down or something when I get it done XD

What I have: none
What I want to have: A tattoo on the entire length of my arm with instructions on what to do when you encounter me seizing up on the streets.

Ho boy, here we go. I have 00-guage (10mm or 3/8 inch) plugs in both lobes. Two 10-gauge rings and a cartlidge piercing in my left ear. In my right I have another 10g ring, an industrial, and a conch piercing. I used to have my nipples pierced, but I had to take them out for a surgery and they'd healed over by the time I got back home. Remember this, folks: nipples heal REALLY fast. Oh! I had one in my eyebrow, too, but that one fell out. I got a replacement, but it was one size too big... so like a complete moron I shoved it in anyway. It got really sore and probably infected and I just ended up taking it out. Whatevs. As for tattoos, I have four already and I'm planning more. In chronological order, there's a pentacle on my left shoulder, a cute lil' crow on my back, bushido on my leg, and a ouroboros catfish on my right wrist. Got pics in my dropbox if anyone cares to see them. For the last few years, I've treated myself on my birthday with a new tattoo or piercing. Obviously, the piercings are easier to do -- they don't take quite the planning, artistic talent, or money as a tattoo. But the experience of being tattooed.... *shudders* so fun!

I want a tattoo, unfortunately getting past the needle part is the hardest bit. I want to get an Elder Sign or the Yellow Sign from HP Lovecraft lore right on the back of my neck/where neck meets shoulder blades. Ya know, the *totally* best place to get your first tattoo.

The needle part actually isn't as awful as you'd imagine. I HATE getting shots/having blood drawn, but a big part of it is how they go deep under the skin and "fish around" to find the vein (*shudders*). But tattoos are closer to the surface of the skin so it's not so bad; it's definitely uncomfortable but it doesn't feel the same as having the needles poked deep into you if that makes sense.

I've wanted to get a couple of tattoos for a couple of years now, I've just been holding off until I can lose some weight. Would hate to get some tattoos as a fatass, drop 100 lb, and then be rocking a bedsheet on my body.

I'm working on a cover up for my right shoulder with my tattoo artist. It has taken 5 hours and $900+ on my monkey king tattoo so far. I also travel an hour and a half to Austin to work with the artist I chose. I expect to spend more money on it but I told myself in the 2017 year that padding our savings, and saving for training and demo production will come first. I might be stuck here with an incomplete tattoo until August. Once I finally go part-time professional, I'll allow myself to start a new one after this one's finished. I'm thinking something around Noh masks, the Eye of Horus or Yggdrasil to continue my arm sleeve.
