So I'm still working on making my first character demo, but one of the big problems that I've run into is that I've been trying to use samples from completed projects I've done- the issue is, I mainly work on Casting Call Club and the projects that do get off the ground often take a long time to successfully complete, and that slows down the process of finding character material I can work with.
I was mainly wondering if anyone knew of other ways to get material for this kind of demo, if there was any other kind of copy I could use, or any other options I could make use of because right now I'm stumped.

You can use material from existing sources like TV shows, manga, and games, but I’d avoid using identifiable quotes or character names - in fact, you can use the line as an inspiration and change up the wording or make it a totally different character/emotion than it was in the original. For example you could even take a line from a female character in a TV show or movie and change it up a bit because after all you’re not copying the voice/character, just a couple lines from the script.
A word of caution: Do not use material from the following sources: -Indie projects (unless you yourself booked and performed the role) -Anything from a project under NDA or otherwise not public, unless you get permission -Auditions you recorded but didn’t book -Another voice actor’s demo.
