You definitely have fun with it, and that shows! I like your voice, very much. Couple of things, though. EQ-wise, everything sounded kinda high, with very little on the low end. How far away from the mic did you record? Try getting in just a little closer. It was also pretty quiet, so amp it up a bit. Also, you can cut "normal voice" since we already hear that in the intro. I liked your Rich Brat character, though, that was well done!

If there was still some background noise, I couldn't tell, sounds good to me.

Overall, I like this quite a bit! My one critique would be to vary the speed of delivery a bit. The entire thing is very... staccato. Was that intentional? Try mixing it up a little with longer, flowing parts, broken up with the more quick, pointed deliveries.

Howdy, folks! My buddy and I have an audio drama podcast, and for one of our episodes we included a couple of fake commercials. I was hoping some folks wouldn't mind taking a listen and let me know what you think! Neither of these were done in my own voice, but they are both me (in case you can't tell... you probably can). Constructive criticism is always welcome -- it's how you improve! Thanks! Golden Sun Chariot LimosDiesel Energy Drinks
P.S. - If you're interested at all in listening to the podcast, feel free to PM me. We may also need some incidental voices in the future, so if you're interested, let me know. Thanks again!

The AT2020 is also an XLR mic, yes? My advice: play with one before you buy, if the shop will let you, and get a good interface to go with it (say, a nice PreSonus or Scarlett 2i2 or above - the Solo has a different pre-amp chip than all the others, so I'd spend the extra $15 on a 2i2/2i4) and maybe consider looking at an AT4040. Shure PG42 is good as well (cheap and easy on the pocketbook, though it has a strong top-end. It might throw you off, as its a lot brighter than the Yeti, but you might give it a listen anyhoo.) You'd probably LOVE the SM27, but that's getting a little more up there in price. The AT2020 also comes in a USB version, which is what I'd be interested in, at least in this phase of my "career." It's not quite as good as the XLR version, of course, but it's still decent. DANG that AT4040 is a slick-lookin' piece. Woo-ee! Sadly, my budget is pretty nonexistent (divorce, moving, seriously strapped for cash) so looks like I'm going to have to wait and see what the future holds.

I'm not sure I can say I have a favorite mic, per se, because I've only ever used the Yeti. Though I'm considering picking up an AT2020.

I did the test. And it felt more like my real voice althouhg a bit thin and harsh and pitch lifted. I think the mic I have is overly bassy, that's the problem You could try recording at various distances. How close are you to the mic when you usually record? The closer you are, the more low end you're going to get. Play around with it and see what comes out best.

Are you judging your voice by whether or not it sounds like you think you sound in your head? If so, that's troublesome. Your head reverberates like a guitar body, altering the way your voice sounds to you as you're speaking. It's better to ask someone else if the recording sounds true to your natural voice.

Seriously, I've been meaning to ask - the eyeball: it looks SOOO AWESOME! Does it perform as advertised with killing reverb off walls? This is relevant to my interests! I'm just getting started, and while my office isn't too bad to record in, anything that makes it better is always good. Right now I'm just using a Yeti with one of those foam covers.

Tried to listen to your character demo, but it says "This track was not found. Maybe it has been removed."
