Hi everyone, I just needed some pro tips of how to improve my Morgan Freeman voice, right now I'm really bad at it. My voice is with higher pitch so that's why it so difficult for me, also I'm not an English native speaker. I don't have any pro equipment, I'm taping my voice with a phone. Also I'm pretty embarrassed when I'm practicing, so no one has ever heard this. I need some advice of the depth or the tone of the voice. Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks This is the voice: clyp.it/4jrn5iqt#

Not bad. You could try copying some of his lines from movies?

Yes, I'm trying some quotes from shawshank redemption like any other person would try, but I just can't get it right, and sometimes when I think that 'I nailed it', after one hour it sounds like crap. There are pros like Frank Caliendo and Charlie Hopkinson that are really good at 'Morgan Freeman' but they have naturally low voice. I will try some lines and post them here, at least no one knows me so I'm not that embarrassed And thank you for your feedback.

I think the key is going as deep in your chest as you can go and being as totally relaxed as you can get. Yawn a lot to help. Try humming and take the pitch down as far as you can. His voice is all about resonance and, while deep, has more of a nasal quality to it than most people think. I don't mean nasal in a bad way but just that he really uses what Arthur Lessac calls the "vocal nozzle". Get a copy of Lessac's book: The Use and Training of the Human Voice and it will help you.
