About the game:
Dear Monster is a BL dating sim. BL means romantic relationships between men, so we’re seeking only tolerant and open-minded voice actors. All the characters are adult and look their age (around 20-30). The genre is fantasy comedy, so the tone of the game will be quite light-hearted, apart from some bad endings.
The game is about a man who’s invited to his grandfather’s mansion. It turns out that grandpa was a powerful wizard who traveled through many supernatural worlds and gathered interesting friends along the way. Some of those friends are now the mansion’s guardians.
The player's objective is to become worthy of his grandfather's legacy, getting to know the guardians along the way.
The game’s features include animated characters, skinship system (touching characters during dates), A customizable protagonist (male and, later, female), building stats, mini-games and multiple endings.

We’re a small development team based in Poland. We’re currently financing Dear Monster on Patreon, so the rates we’ll be able to offer to depend largely on our funding there.
Chosen VAs will be voicing the demo at first. It will be a couple of crucial lines or the whole script depending on our Patreon earnings.

Roles:

Imbriss the Dragon, Adult, Male
Short Description: A red dragon with a short fuse who lives in a wizard’s mansion and steals gold. He appears as a muscular man with red hair.
Age: Hundreds of years, but sounding anything between 20-35.
Personality and background: Like all red dragons, Imbriss is arrogant, impetuous and greedy (but he doesn’t sound pompous or like a spoiled child). He simply views himself as infinitely better than humans. He smells like smoke, Sulphur and burnt toast.
Imbriss doesn’t understand human customs. He can get aggressive or surprisingly shy when caught off-guard.
During the course of the game, he can change and come to like, or even love the human protagonist.
Role: The role will require strong acting skills, and we’re looking for someone able to deliver funny, romantic and dramatic lines equally well.
Voice: Imbriss can get very aggressive and animalistic. We're looking for someone who can convey it (e.g. deliver a line with a growl). We’re leaning towards American accent but won’t say no to British auditions.
Lines:
(indignant/disbelieving) Burnt toast. I smell like… burnt toast. (aggressive) I dare you to say that again, human. I’ll burn you to a crisp. (aggressive + satisfaction) We’ll see who smells then.
(impatient) How should I know? I was casting spells the moment I was born. (sigh) All right, all right… I’ll teach you. But only because of how pathetic you are.
(Loves the protagonist, but is not happy with it) Oh, I’m great. Or rather, I was until you came along and ruined everything with your… human ways. I don’t understand anything anymore. And I don’t want to. Just leave me the hell alone.

Hikmat/Hidayat the Anubis, Adult, Male
Short Description: A man who used to be a god, but lost most of his powers, together with the ability to travel to the Underworld. He still feels the need to stay close to the dead.
Age: Thousands of years, but sounding anything between 20-35.
Background: Hikmat wasn’t a god at first. He was the master-embalmer in Egypt, and his extraordinary skills caused others to admire, and even worship him. Eventually, they started to view him as something more than human, and their belief transformed him into an immortal being. He was able to travel to the Underworld and truly weight the hearts of the dead.
Gradually, Egypt became a different place and people’s belief in gods disappeared. Hikmat remained immortal, but he could no longer travel to the Land of the Dead. He still sees it when he closes his right eye.
Personality: Calm and collected, even cold at times. He’s especially detached when he focuses on something. It’s not easy to get close to him.
Hikmat is proud and dignified but has a morbid sense of humor (when you get to know him better). Sometimes, he can be sarcastic.
He’s fascinated with the afterlife and everything that’s connected to it. He likes to talk about accidents, calamities, funerals and decay. He dabbles in alchemy and maintains a garden in the mansion.
Role: Until you get to know him better, Hikmat’s lines are quite short. We’re looking for someone able to deliver these short lines in an engaging way and make the most of their meaning.
Voice: Please deliver your best interpretation of a kind of voice that would suit a former god.
Lines:
(deep in thought) Deep underneath, I can feel them. Soundless. Forgotten. Devoid of breath. Upon their bones this world was built.
The painted tombs in the Valley of the Kings. The scorching sands of the Great Desert. I’ve seen them all and stood in awe of their greatness.
(After he comes to love the protagonist) I used to think nothing of a beating heart. But yours is… different. Somehow, it became dearer than silence.

Faeryn the Unicorn, Adult, Male
Short Description: Master of flowery language and long speeches. Has a penchant for drama. He appears as a beautiful man with long hair.
Age: Hundreds of years, but sounding anything between 20-35.
Background: Faeryn used to live in an enchanted forest, but he got bored because nothing ever happened. He joined a party of extremely unskilled human adventurers and traveled with them for many years, pretty much keeping them alive. Then he met the wizard (protagonist’s grandpa) and was fascinated by the world he spoke of. He decided to visit the wizard’s world.
Personality: Very protective and kind to a fault. He always sees the good in everyone and rushes to save them, even if it’s not necessary.
The wizard told him about his grandson so many times that Faeryn became fascinated, and eventually developed an unhealthy obsession with the protagonist.
Faeryn has very outdated notions of courtship, marriage, and chastity, which clash with the protagonist’s point of view.
Role: Faeryn is, to a large degree, a comedic character, so we’re looking for someone who will make us laugh. However, as the player gets to know him, they encounter many serious or even sad moments. Strong acting skills are a must.
Voice: We don’t have a specific voice in mind. This role could fit either American or British accent.
Lines:
(Meets the protagonist) Oh, at last, it is you! I have been waiting for so long. Words cannot describe the joy I feel upon meeting you, dear lad. My name is Faeryn, the keeper of Sacred Woods, the bearer of the Horn, the brother of Asallam, the– (at this point, the player has a choice to either let him continue or mercifully interrupt)
(“What do you think of horse riding?”) Oh, I absolutely despise it! All creatures, tame and wild, have the right to live freely, fulfilling their true potential. (pause) Ah, but I wouldn’t mind you riding me. I-I didn’t mean-t-that is-uh- (the words you use to stutter here are up to you)
(sadness + warmth) The legend says that anyone who touches a unicorn will gain eternal happiness. (pause) But it is not so. I am truly sorry. I cannot grant your wish.

Momo the Fox (Kitsune), Adult, Male
Short Description: A charming and polite nine-tailed fox who works hard to suppress his darker nature. He’s one of the guardians in a wizard’s mansion.
Age: Hundreds of years, but sounding anything between 20-35.
Background: For hundreds of years, Momo had lived alongside humans, pretending to be one of them. He felt drawn to people, but at the same time, he hated them for treating him cruelly when he was just a fox. He often used them for his own amusement or to prove his superiority.
“Momo” is the name that was given to him by the only person who was kind to him before he developed his magical abilities and became able to turn into a human.
When Momo met the protagonist’s grandpa (the wizard), he was at the lowest point in his life. He felt an overwhelming emptiness because he didn’t know who he really was. Grandpa gave him a home and taught him that kindness doesn’t equal being weak.
Personality: Momo appears playful and friendly, but he’s also very manipulative. He does his best to suppress his predatory instincts and past bitterness towards humans, but they sometimes take over. On the one hand, he genuinely wants to befriend and help the protagonist. On the other, he wants to tease him, take advantage of him and even hurt him at times.
Role: This is a difficult role because of the conflicting sides of Momo’s character. Also, as with Imbriss, we’re looking for someone able to deliver funny, romantic and dramatic lines equally well.
Voice: Smooth, silky and melodious would be ideal.
Lines:
(friendly and polite, but with a veiled threat) Now, now, there’s no need to fight. I’m sure we can come to some sort of understanding. After all, you wouldn’t want to stay here forever, would you?
(Wants Imbriss to leave) Imbriss, there you are. I think I saw a golden vase in one of the rooms in the north wing. Now, which one was it…?
You shouldn’t have come here. (pause) (playful turning into serious/desperate) What shall I do with you? When you look at me like that, I want to… No, that won’t do. You have to leave. Right now.[/a]
