Then there is the Pay to Play sites. A client/buyer posts an audition and people on the platform submit their auditions as well as their rate for the job. The advantage for the client here is speed of the process as well as a chance to pick someone under budget (grrrr.) Then they may do a web search and pick the first few names that pops up, listen to their demos and see their work, pick one and just assume they are perfect for the role. The advantage here for the client is speed and simplicity, no auditions or having to think. There are also other ways. Indie game devs are sometimes posting to Social media for big casting calls. The advantage is that they will get quiet a range to choose from as well as a few followers as more talent hope for future casting calls.
