Hello fellow voice acting enthusiasts!
I am a 21-year-old chemistry student hailing from the lovely (and bitter cold) state of Michigan. I am very excited to finally graduate this spring and explore professional career opportunities outside of my Midwest hometown, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
But, I digress. My scientific passion is not what has lead me to join VAC. Rather, it was the realization that I will no longer have clustered class schedules or merciless extracurricular commitments that had struck me with renewed motivation in the world of voice acting. I have officially run out of "excuses" for being too busy to replenish my original interests.
I was extremely immersed in the theatrics of voice acting throughout my junior high and high school years. I found myself practicing new tones and vocalization techniques to improve my range at least three times a week after finishing my homework, which was eventually followed by numerous voice demos and YouTube auditions. Although I was often rejected due to my young age at the time, I found myself being seriously considered for several "bigger projects". It supplied me with both determination and hope. I found myself working even harder after each dismissal. My parents entertained this enthusiasm by paying for singing/acting lessons and a beautiful recording microphone that is still in my possession to this day. In fact, it became such a prominent part of my life to the point that I was even tempted to pursue an education at a performing arts college. However, I understandably received a lot of confused responses and parental criticism with respect to this potential decision. Fortunately, chemistry reigned in as a strong second choice.
Nevertheless, I have felt a hole in my heart since attending university. Something was missing. I was so preoccupied with my academics that I never fully accepted what it was. I was stripped away from a dynamic component of my lifestyle. But now, I am once again full of optimistic energy. I am ready to get back to business, and I am especially excited to meet some amazing new people along the way!
Looking forward to the future,
