Hello!
I'm here on behalf of my brother, who is looking for a couple of voice actors for his animated short entitled Santa Car Chase. I'll be his casting director. This is one of many planned shorts in a series entitled The Interesting Life of Ming. The short has only 9 lines for the main character, Ming, and 6 lines for the santa character. These shorts are meant to be lighthearted, silly, and comedic.

Although it's obvious due to where this is posted on the forum, but it's always good to state it anyway: this series is a passion project, no money will be made off of it. Therefore, all interested VAs are volunteers.
PREMISE:
The "Santa Car Chase" short follows Ming, who gives a dirty look to the mall Santa. He gets angry and the car chase begins. Santa is hot on her trail in his big red truck, so Ming puts the pedal to the medal in order to out speed him.
CHARACTERS:
Ming
Female, young adult, medium-high voice type
**NOTE** It is highly recommended those auditioning for Ming are interested in reprising their role for future shorts, if possible**
Audition Lines
"What is up with that santa?" [internal thoughts]
"Oh no, he's catching up! Better floor it!" [panic, determined]
Mall Santa
Male, middle aged, medium to medium-low voice type, a bit raspy or gruff
Audition Lines:
"I don't like the way she looked at me." [internal thoughts, irritated]
"HO HO HO, YOU LOOKED AT ME FUNNY!" [loud, irritated, gruff]
DEADLINE:February 23rd March 5th, 2023
AUDITION RULES & WHERE TO SEND:
- Decent quality mics, no headsets!
- Record lines in .wav
- Title your audition file with CHARACTERNAME_VACREDIT (ex: Ming_JaneDoe.wav)
- Send your lines to kokoro_hane(at)yahoo.com (just replace "at" with @ ) with subject line "Santa Car Chase audition" so I do not mistake it as spam
After auditions close, we will decide on final casting within a week's time. All auditioners will be sent the results (don't worry, I always make the e-mails BCC) and you will have 3 days to confirm your role. After 3 days, if I do not hear back, I will e-mail you directly and give you another week. If after that week there is no response, then I will have to give the role to someone else.
