Overview
This is a creative Commons passion project about mental health. While technically a game, it's probably more of an audio drama job. I intend to allow donations, and you will get a fair cut.
Submission Deadline: March first.
You can choose to voice any lines you like from what I've written so far, but I also made a selection of a few lines, that cover some of the more challenging bits.
Premise and Overview
"Frame of Mind" is a unique coming of age story. You play Xavier as they move out of their parents home and decide what mementos and ideas they want to move on with. Some of the assumptions you will take away from their youth will be bad. But, given more time and insight you can come to a better frame of mind.
Content Notes
This game discusses Mental Health, Body Issues, Eating, Marginalization, Sexuality, social Transition and Trauma. And: Xavier will talk about how they survived a non-violent rape. There's as little detail as possible, you can read the script to know if you are fine with it, see below.
about the Character
Xavier will talk to themselves during the game. In the first section, roughly 18, while still going by their birthname, Lisa, and probably having a feminine voice. In the second section, ~5 years later, they will in one story line have started to take Testosterone. You can try to voice both, or just one "version".
Xavier is a young adult that grew up as a queer, autistic, gifted special needs kid. While growing up, they were unaware about many of their identities, witch lead them to a difficult state of mind.
If you can relate to some of this yourself, that would be a positive.
Also: based on the game Setting, an authentic German tint would be nice, but not required. To see what I mean, look at this voice comparison: youtu.be/ugstZruAhfc?t=31
How to Submit
If you're fine with everything and interested so far, you can read more in this document: pad.tils.pw/v2m3lFqmS_moHFvG3K7xHg
You can send me a DM, a mail (contact@betalars.de) or reply here I guess? Given this is a very challenging job, and also volunteering, I don't want you to have to go trough many hoops.
