Hello all,
Lately there have been some fandubs being posted in this section. The moderation team and I have discussed whether or not to allow this, and the majority conclusion was reached that since we don't allow auditions for fandubs to be posted, it doesn't make much sense to allow the finished versions to be uploaded either, even if they were cast and produced offsite. If you wish to promote them, we recommend doing so on your own social media pages or other sites that allow this type of work to be showcased.
I know the rules can be confusing, so here is a list again of what is/isn't allowed, whether for audition notices or posted projects. This list isn't comprehensive of course, but it will cover some of the commonly addressed topics.
Allowed:
-Original projects
-Animations, including those based on existing works
-Radioplays/audio dramas, including those based on existing works
-Comic dubs (please make sure to credit the artist!)
-Manga "dubs"/readthroughs
-Parodies, including abridged series
-Song covers (audio, limited visuals, or AMV-style)
-Machinima
-Dubbing over game footage that has not officially been fully voiced, hasn't been voiced in English, or has been voiced in English but is being dubbed over into a different language (for instance, producing a Spanish-language dub of a game cutscene would be considered OK)
Not Allowed:
-Fandubs of existing shows or movies, including anime and/or Western animation, whether or not the property has yet been licensed
-English dubs of game cutscenes that have already been fully voiced in English, except for the purposes of showcasing voice acting practice or impressions (such as in the clips section)
-Dubbing directly over a scene for the purposes of a song fandub (for instance, a concert scene in a show)
If you ever have questions as to whether or not something is OK to be posted, please feel free to make a help thread in the "forum help" section and an admin or moderator will review for you ASAP. Thank you for your patience!
