Six months ago when I was starting out, I was afraid to get behind the mic and press record. Tonight, I received my first ever payment doing voice work. It's kind of surreal, but it's just been so cool working on my voice and building up confidence in myself. That's the reason I signed up here!

Okay, I've been watching Kakegurui on Netflix and I'm stupidly proud of my performance as Mary, one of the leads - I know that sounds really arrogant, but I am usually pretty iffy on my own performances and very critical of myself especially when it comes to characters outside my usual type. However, Mary is EXACTLY my "type" of character to play best and as a result I got to just have a ton of fun and go balls-to-the-wall crazy when recording. I'm honestly so impressed with EVERYONE in the cast on this one; people were given characters that they just absolutely nailed. Please watch it, it's so good all-around! (Word of advice though: you probably don't want to watch it with small children around....)

Since fixing my mic setup, roles have been piling up for me! The Discord was a huge help for me, the users told me what I needed to do to improve my audio quality, and it's really showing. I'm thrilled to be recognized for my hard work at last!

I'm thrilled to be in an actual Pokemon game! Emilia, the main female character in Detective Pikachu! (also shoutouts to my friend Kaiji Tang for his amazing Pikachu)

Twice in one week, someone actually paid me for my voice! I'm not in this for the money, but there's definitely a special, warm feeling behind someone enjoying my hobby's creations enough to pay for them.

I haven't been on here for a little while because lately I've been preparing for and then adjusting to a big life change. I recently moved to the USA (Los Angeles more specifically) from England, which is an incredibly huge step forward in my voice acting career. It took months of paperwork and other things and I didn't want to say anything until I was definitely here but now that I am here, it's amazing! I've been settling in (there is a lot of new stuff to get used to) and recently started auditioning here, which is awesome and a lot of fun. I've already met some really cool voice actors that I am a big fan of and admire plus it's great reuniting with my voice acting friends from previous trips too. It's all very exciting and I hope things just get better and better

I'm happy to report that I've recently been cast in my third paid role as a voice actor, and it's a recurring one at that (similar to my first)! It's been a little over a year since I decided to really dive into online voice acting, and I feel like I've really come a long way in terms of acting ability, refining my audio, and trying new things. It's also helped me to revisit my music recording, which had stalled a number of years ago. This is huge for me, as I'd hit a huge emotional block and wasn't doing anything remotely creative at all for quite some time. I owe a lot of this progress to a very specific source of inspiration and a particular group of friends, without whose support I wouldn't be here writing about this today.

I recently got my first payed role! I know that really isn't much, but I'm kinda proud! It astounds me someone payed for my voice in their game. It's crazy.

I'm still rather new to voice over, but I got cast as the protagonist in a small indie title by a Swedish game dev, and the game got second place in the GDWC's Fan Favorites section. This was also my first paid role.

> Be me > Haven't eaten anything solid in 2 days > Go to voice acting class > Muscle starts spasming in the middle of lesson > Autism makes panic go from 5-500 > Take muscle relaxer during break and shuts off camera > Full body spaz for a little bit, hitting my face a few rimes > Ouch!!! > "should I call it off for today bc it's really bad?" > No I'm too based for that > Enter class anyways, doing autistic arm flapping to stop the stress > everyone's looking at me and my flappy hands > Humiliation. > Or so I thought > Stay after class and ask teachers if the meltdown was obvious in case I needed to take the lesson again > "No, we couldn't tell at all actually. You performed really well tonight" > Gets told I had the best performance today > "I'm becoming a real fan" says the teacher who gives the harshest criticism >
