Hello there, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, et cetera and what have you!
My first name is Parker, and I come from East Canada. I live in a less urban part of the world, and despite still being around cities, we're not as advanced as, say, New York or Toronto. Nevertheless, I am big on technology, and I am an avid video gamer and internet roleplayer, among other interests I have. I am aware of what they all say, "Acting is a hobby!", and perhaps it is. But even though I might be new to this, I am extremely interested, and would love to show VAC (not Valve Anti-Cheat, Voice Acting Club) what I'd have to offer. I am a high-school student, so I'm not the best suited for older roles just yet. I'll take any and all constructive criticism, and use it to improve in the future.
Hopefully I'll find success here!

Hi, there! People here aren't too active on introductions, but they're very nice! So don't feel awful if you don't get tons of responses to your intro. I started a few days ago, so we're pretty much in the same bost here.
Acting is a hobby if you want it to be. But if you are genuinely eager to get into acting, and pursue a career in it, it's definitely possible. What so many people fail to understand is that the "voice" part for most successful voice actors is secondary. ACTING is primary. You must be able to create convincing and "real" characters in what you do. You have to be an actor. You have to love acting.
I can be almost certain that your school has a theatre program and maybe a drama club. Take advantage of that! Learn and challenge yourself! Every single acting/theatre teacher that I've ever met is absolutely passionate about it, and is more than willing to help people with the drive. Theatre changed my life. Give it a shot. It won't be any hindrance to you at all.
And explore the boards! Give everything your best shot, and talk to people.
Welcome!

Welcome to the Club! We're glad to have you. As theatricasualty said, acting is only a hobby if you want it to be. For me, personally, it is a hobby right now. As my skill & experience grows, I'll be able to better judge how much I want to dive into it. It's really what you put in that determines how much you get out of it. (It's not the ONLY factor, but an important one!) I plan to experience all that I can and grow, and give it time to make sure it's something I want to invest more into. And then, I'll invest more!
