Hey guys, I'm Amanda!
I'm currently a nurse so it's a bit odd and scary coming from a non-theatrical background into this. I tried out a class from a recommendation of a friend and loved it though it was a challenging experience for me. I have a ton of work to do and self-consciousness to overcome but I'm liking what this has brought out of me so far. Really open to anyone sharing stories of going from something opposite into VO! Am looking forward to seeing the resources and tips from everyone here.
Have a great day!

Welcome to the Club! We're glad to have you here. I'm a systems administrator by day, so I can understand the somewhat jarring difference. However, you and I are both acting during our regular 9-5. When a problem occurs (server goes berserk, or patient has a severe problem, or becomes a problem), and you have to sort of put on a persona to guide and keep the situation calm, that's acting. Learning and realizing that helps me sneak in some voice acting practice (with my natural voice) in my normal day-to-day stuff. Focusing more on what I'm saying and how I'm saying. Such as right now, where I realize I'm kinda rambling, but it kind of applies to your original post. So I'll end it here. Enjoy the Club!
