I'm Donnie. Donnie Guiou. I was pursuing a career in voice acting for a bit but that's taken a backseat to my education. Which I am almost done with. Anyways I hope I can use this to better myself as a voice actor and do my best to get back into Voice acting. I have done a few demo reels on my soundcloud (They're loosely demo reels without sound effects and music and whatnot) But also a question that has been causing me worry. I'm getting my wisdom teeth extracted soon and I'm just wondering if the extraction would effect my voice or derail my future career. Just curious that's all and can't wait to learn alongside you all

Hi, Donnie! =) Welcome back to voice acting, and welcome to the new board! I hope you have a great time. I *haven't* had my wisdom teeth out, so I can't speak from experience about whether your voice will or might change, but in my opinion (and based on what I do know) I don't personally believe it would derail your voice over career. For one thing, I've never been able to tell if someone had their wisdom teeth removed just by hearing their voice; so even if there *is* a change, it shouldn't *ruin* your voice. It might just take some adjustment. Second, I remember watching a LoZ Twilight Princess Abridged series by xanaumazumaki on YouTube, where he did all the voices (if I remember right). Most of the way through the series, he *did* have his wisdom teeth out, but I couldn't hear any difference at all in the remaining episodes. Same thing with MatPat (Game Theory) on YouTube -- I can't tell by listening which of his voice recordings are from before or after his wisdom teeth were out. According to a (very!) quick Google search, some people said it might change your voice. *shrug* But it's not anything within my own experience or knowledge, and all I can say is that if I were going to have my wisdom teeth out, I wouldn't be worried about it. Hopefully some people with firsthand experience can weigh in!

Had my wisdom teeth out in high school, never did anything but cause me a couple of weeks of pain. Voice was entirely unaffected.

Hello and welcome! You should be fine, it only takes a little recovery time! Good luck though!
