So i have seen a few auditions in the paid section tha say auditions $20 and $30 per episode (example) does this mean we pay just to audition and is this a common practice? I do apologize im new to doing this thank you in advance.

I would really hope not on both accounts, especially since a lot of sites already charge membership fees to use fully.
If they mention an amount for the auditions, that SHOULD mean an upfront payment upon being casted to the VA, with the later payments being for episodes/workloads completed.

Nope, you should never have to pay for the privilege of auditioning (unless it's a membership type of service like on one of those pay-to-play sites, but that's a different story.)
If someone says $20 for auditions, chances are they mean they'll pay you $20 if you turn in an audition that they end up using in the final product. Anything in the "paid" section means that they are offering payment to the actors who book the roles and record for the project. Normally you don't get paid anything just for auditioning (paid project or not), but that's cool if it's something they're offering.
(Moved your post to Forum Help as I think it fits better under that section.)

Moving me was cool (though I had to find it when I got home hehe) and thank you both for your responses. I was kinda astonished myself if it meant I have to pay (especially here as I knew from the podcast that it was free for the board).
