Hello all, I just got this idea from a demo reel Nyan posted and thought it would be something awesome we could implement here in the demo reel section. This is not a rule by any means, but just a suggestion to 1) help producers have an easier method of scouting talent through demo reels, and 2) help YOU as a voice actor have an easier chance of getting scouted! The title of your demo reel thread can be a fantastic opportunity to include a few keywords to let people know what you're good at. For example, Azure labeled her thread with "Female, British, Kids" - making it super easy for someone clicking on it to know what she can do well right off the bat. Here are some ideas for keywords you can use in your thread title (pick around three to five; you don't have to use all these): -The gender you are normally cast as (for instance, someone specifically looking for male voices will be more likely to click on a thread labeled as such, and vice versa) -Your most convincing age range (kids? teens? young adults? middle age?) -Accents (Many of the voice actors on this board are from the United States - if your natural accent is something other than neutral American, noting this in your thread title can be a great asset. For instance, someone looking for a voice actor with an Irish accent will be much more likely to click on a thread labeled "Irish".) Some people can do more than one accent seamlessly based on their upbringing or other factors, in that case labeling something like "British/American" or "US/Canadian/Chinese" may be useful. -Terms you often hear used to describe your voice. For example, I'm usually told my voice is "clear" and "perky", whereas others may be told their voice is sultry, raspy, comedic, soft, deep, etc. -Project types or genres you best fill ("announcer", "soldier", "girl next door", "JRPGs", "audiobooks", "cartoons") -Something unique you do with your voice that is marketable (young boys, moms, elderly, impressions, etc) So for example, if I were to post my own demo reel, I might tag the end of the subject line with something like "Female/US/Kids+Teens" or "Female, perky, videogame voices". Make sense? Again, this isn't required, but I think it's a great option to help demo reels stand out more and be easily categorized.

Thanks for the tips.
EDIT: Say, actually. Would you mind if I sent you my demo reel for feedback?

This is really good food for thought! I've finished up writing what I'd like to include in my Demo Reel (some editing of lines and I'm good to go!) and adding key phrases seems like it be a good idea for what kind of voice Directors and Producers are looking for specifically. Thank you so much for sharing ;o;

I'm thinking of putting my own reel together to begin with, I guess most will think that is a terrible idea
