Hello all!
My name is Katte Noel and I am searching for a rapper and songwriter to create a hip hop beat with rap lyrics for my podcast intro!
I am an aspiring voice actor and I'm in the process of creating a political fantasy podcast called E(l)ffing Lucid. Here is the overview:
Roselyn Enchasse is a half-elf, half-human living in Nera, Riosha, where a large minority of elves are forced to reside in ghettos. They suffer from discrimination and violence at the hands of humans. She uses her position of privilege to start a podcast calling out this discrimination.
The narrator, Roselyn (voiced by myself), discusses themes that mirror modern day American issues, including police brutality, gun control, censorship, relations between different races, and ineffective government leaders. The first season of the podcast will be five episodes about five to ten minutes in length each. The final draft of the scripts are available for review for whomever is chosen for the project.
I am looking for a one to two minute original upbeat hip hop/rap song with lyrical themes similar to the podcast - injustice, discrimination, resisting societal norms, etc. Ideally the song shouldn't contain any extreme explicit content — just so that I don't have to flag the podcast as explicit and therefore limit the audience — but I think some in moderation is fine. I plan on using about thirty seconds, or a verse and chorus, of the song to play as an intro to each episode in the first season and any subsequent seasons. I also plan on playing the full song at the end of the final episode of the season. Full credit would be given to the content creator both during the first episode and in the credits.
My budget is $100 to $300, but I'm willing to go beyond that should the right person come along. If you would like to apply, please email me at kattenoel@gmail.com with a proposal of why you think you are the best fit for the job and examples of any previous work (ideally a song with similar themes/tones OR of a similar sound of what you'd like to write for me). If you have a preexisting song that you think fits the description for this project, feel free to send that to me as well and we can discuss its usage. The deadline for contacting me is December 31st, 2018 at 11:59 CST, although I may extend this if the job is not filled by that date.
Please reach out to me if you have questions or would like more information! To end on a quote from the series, "Stay woke, but when you dream, stay lucid."
