All members are expected to treat others with respect and dignity.
**Discussion and disagreements are to remain civil. No drama, insults, mocking, or personal attacks.
**Bigotry and hate speech toward a person or group of people will not be tolerated.
**Harassment, including unwanted sexual comments or advances, will not be tolerated. Be respectful in your comments. Do not stalk members on the board or over PMs, or attack them for not responding to you.
**Critiques of each other's work are welcome and encouraged, but should be constructive.
**Members are encouraged to cultivate an attitude of professionalism, whether they are professional voice actors yet or not. This means: Don't hound producers asking if they listened to your audition yet. Don't lash out if someone offers you constructive criticism. Don't make pity posts complaining or asking why you didn't get cast. There are many factors that go into casting, so don't get discouraged if you don't make the cut---focus on improving your work and resolve to do better next time.
No spam or excessive off-topic posting.
**Accounts made purely for spam or deemed to be bots will be banned on sight.
**The forum is not a personal chat board. If a thread starts turning into a majorly derailed discussion or a bunch of inside jokes between you and your group of friends, it's time to move it to your Skype group, PMs, or social media. We also have a "shoutbox" at the bottom of the forum for real-time chat with other members.
**You may not "bump" a thread more than once in a 72-hour period. Be patient when making a request.
**Do not make multiple threads on the same topic or project. Edit your existing thread if you need to make changes or updates.
**Do not hijack a thread for something unrelated to the original topic, especially in audition threads.
No advertising or self-promotion, except in areas where it is specifically allowed.
**Do not make posts whose sole purpose is to advertise your services as a voice actor, your YouTube channel, your website, etc. Put those links in your forum signature instead. Members are each allowed one post in the "introductions" section where they may talk about their background and promote their work.
**Do not spam or hijack audition threads to offer your services---if you're interested in a project, follow the audition process as outlined in the thread.
**If you wish to promote your demo reel, please do so in the "Demo Reels" section. Clips that are not demo reels may go in the "clips & critiques" section, but please be mindful not to flood the board.
**Posts soliciting funding, sponsorship, etc are not allowed regardless of the reason. The only exception is that if you are making a thread about your project in the Auditions or Finished Projects section, you may include a link to your crowdfunding page for that particular project in the post. Promotions of other business endeavors are only allowed in the "Offer a Service" forum and must be generally related or of interest to the voice acting community. You may still promote Kickstarter/Patreon/other business links as part of your personal profile/forum signature so long as they do not otherwise violate the rules of the board.
Please do your best to communicate clearly.
**Use proper spelling and grammar to the best of your ability. If English is not your first language, that's OK---we just want messages to be coherent and easy to read.
**Limit your use of text speak, ALL CAPS!!!!!, aNn0Y!nG TyPiNggz etc.
Forum signatures should be concise and not obstruct or distract from general viewing.
**YouTube (or other) videos may not be embedded in signatures. Please include them as a text link instead.
**Banners used in your forum signature should be no larger than 600 px wide or 150 px high. Square images/icons should not be larger than 200 x 200 pixels.
**As per Proboards' TOS, the signature space may not be used to display unrelated banner ads or any other sort of paid advertisement. The content should relate to you and/or your work in some way, shape or form.
**Any content linked from a signature must be in general compliance with the rules of the board and not link to sites that would be deemed excessively objectionable or offensive to our userbase.
**Animated GIFs are only allowed in signatures if they are not distracting or intrusive. Avoid fast-moving, blinking, bright, or otherwise "seizure-inducing" GIFs.
Some "adult content" is allowed, but no blatant pornography.
**No exposed genitalia or depictions of explicit sexual acts, whether on an actual person or on a fictional character---AKA, anything that would break "indecent exposure" laws. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis for drawn/animated depictions of genitalia made for comedic or educational purposes.
**Auditions for adult projects ARE allowed on this board, with some caveats---if you are thinking of holding auditions for an adult game, please see the "Audition Rules" for more info on this topic.
If you witness a post breaking these rules, please use the "report post" feature to alert the moderators, who will take appropriate action if deemed necessary.
Consequences for breaking rules will vary based on the situation. In most cases, warnings will be given, but extreme or repeated offenses may result in a temporary or permanent ban.
