All members are expected to treat others with respect and dignity.
- Discussion should remain civil. Bigotry, slurs, hate speech, etc. will not be tolerated. Critique is welcome when a member requests feedback on their work, but should be constructive.
- Avoid bringing up drama or controversy. "Callout posts" are not permitted. If you have a serious concern about a client that you believe is scamming others or a member that you believe is a legitimate threat to the safety/well-being of others in our community, please message our mod team via the Discord server.
- Harassment, whether sexual or otherwise, is not permitted. Respect the privacy of other members. Avoid unsolicited DMs unless it's for a business reason or unless the person has specifically indicated that they are okay with being messaged. Do not hound people to respond to you, and do not use the messaging system for self-promotional spam.
- Members are encouraged to cultivate an attitude of professionalism, whether they are professional voice actors yet or not. This means: Don't hound producers asking if they listened to your audition yet. Don't lash out if someone offers you constructive criticism. Don't make pity posts complaining or asking why you didn't get cast. There are many factors that go into casting, so don't get discouraged if you don't make the cut---focus on improving your work and resolve to do better next time.
- Please use discretion when it comes to "venting" or posting about very personal issues. As a voice acting community, our team is not equipped to handle crises of this nature. We strongly suggest speaking to a mental health professional instead.
No spam, advertising, or excessive off-topic posting.
- Due to most conversation moving to Discord, we have retired the off-topic boards. Please use the off-topic channels in our Discord if you wish to chat with others.
- You may not "bump" a thread more than once in a 72-hour period. Be patient when making a request.
- Do not make multiple threads on the same topic or project, unless a significant amount of time has passed and the original thread is no longer relevant. Edit your existing thread if you need to make changes or updates.
- Do not hijack others' threads to promote your own work. If you're interested in a project, follow the audition process as outlined in the thread.
- Do not make posts whose sole purpose is to advertise your services as a voice actor, your YouTube channel, your website, etc. Put those links in your forum signature instead. Members are each allowed one post in the "introductions" section where they may talk about their background and promote their work. If you wish to promote your demo reel, please do so in the "Demo Reels" section.
- Posts soliciting funding, sponsorship, etc are not allowed regardless of the reason. The only exception is that if you are making a thread about your project in the Auditions or Finished Projects section, you may include a link to your crowdfunding page for that particular project in the post. Promotions of other business endeavors are only allowed in the "Offer a Service" forum and must be generally related or of interest to the voice acting community. You may still promote Kickstarter/Patreon/other business links as part of your personal profile/forum signature so long as they do not otherwise violate the rules of the board.
Forum avatars and signatures should be concise and not obstruct or distract from general viewing.
- YouTube (or other) videos may not be embedded in signatures. Please include them as a text link instead.
- Banners used in your forum signature should be no larger than 600 px wide or 150 px high. Square images/icons should not be larger than 200 x 200 pixels.
- Animated GIFs are only allowed in signatures if they are not distracting or intrusive. For accessibility reasons, please avoid "flashing" images.
- As per Proboards' TOS, the signature space may not be used to display unrelated banner ads or any other sort of paid advertisement. The content should relate to you and/or your work in some way, shape or form.
- Any content linked from a signature must be in general compliance with the rules of the board and not link to sites that would be deemed objectionable or offensive to our userbase.
- Any image used as an avatar or signature must be kept at a "PG" rating. NSFW content, AI-generated images, and images meant to defame or impersonate others are not permitted. The mod team reserves the right to remove any image deemed inappropriate for our boards.
Adult content is not permitted, with the exception of specific audition posts.
- Please keep in mind that this forum may be viewed by people of all ages including minors. Avoid images, discussion, etc. that is sexual in nature.
- Making sexual comments to other members - whether in public or via private messaging - will not be tolerated. Please report this behavior immediately.
- At this time, we allow auditions for NSFW casting calls in the audition section, however they MUST be clearly tagged as such in the title and images should be censored to a PG-13 level. Minors are prohibited from auditioning for these types of projects.
If you witness a post breaking these rules, please use the "report post" feature to alert the moderators, who will take appropriate action if deemed necessary.
Consequences for breaking rules will vary based on the situation. In most cases, warnings will be given, but extreme or repeated offenses may result in a temporary or permanent ban.
