So casting, or the response to the Transmetropolitan thread I started in Unpaid Auditions is going a little slower than I'd like. I've been perusing threads about how to make effective audition calls, and what honks people off about badly done ones. I think I'm not committing any major sins or anything. But I've really only got a thread here on the VAC, and on an Audio Drama Auditions group on Facebook. Most other sites I find are more like casting services and the like. I used to be on the Voice Acting Alliance message board, which is where I got cast for Star Trek: Outpost and a few other projects besides. But that board seems to have gone the way of all things.
Do any of you know of good places to cast people for unpaid fan projects besides the very obvious choice of here? I figure the wider I cast my nets, the better chance I'll have of finding a diamond in the rough for the roles I need to fill.

Casting Call Club is your best bet. It might still get lost in the shuffle, but it's another good place to go with if this one isn't giving you the auditions you need. The VAC also has a Discord if you haven't posted your project there yet. That might give your post here some more attention!

I highly recommend Casting Call Club. It's pretty easy to use, and you can get some great voice actors there.

I find most of my voice actors on StarNow. Yes, it's a casting service, but they do have a section for voice over and audio. I also find some on Casting Call Club and Behind the Voice Actors.
