Hi there, I recently auditioned for an Annoying Apple and used the voices below. Please let me know what you think about the quality and the voice used. I am still trying to "find my voice" so any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you! soundcloud.com/user-973119917/the-loud-and-distracting-apple

Eyy, your control of your voice and even the squeaks of the apple were really well done. If this recording was for a game or something interactive the clips are definitely clear enough to where I could imagine an NPC blurting them out each time the player bumps into it.
The voice definitely could fit in your title of "loud and distracting apple", but I think you'd be robbing its potential if you left it there, unless you're strictly going for something similar to those annoying orange videos. If you were to take it further, I think you should first write a few lines of dialogue that allow you to explore the voice a little bit more, you might naturally feel inclined to take the personality in a certain direction. For example, the first 4 clips of "hey wutcha doin'?" I think could all build to a lovable cute character...someone who's curious with a certain amount of "annoyance" possibly based on the apple's relation to who it is talking to. Think Didi in Dexter's Laboratory. She's a little annoying, but the voice itself isn't purely annoying as much as it supports annoyance in Didi's role as the annoying older sister.
The "can I help" lines had one or two that explored that "cuteness" factor as well to where I could start picturing the role of the apple from the voice, but the rest of the lines seemed to back up the "loud and distracting" side of things more, but for some reason those clips weren't as interesting to me. Maybe if you make the lines a little longer it will let the "loud and distracting" feelings naturally come out. I know this was for an audition so there's not as much you can do to explore the character yet, so what i'm saying here refers mostly to developing this voice as a character.

Well, I was annoyed...so mission accomplished. I was also amused by it, so I think you're definitely moving in the right direction.

Cute! It makes me think of the little apple from the "Annoying Orange" series.
