When it comes to reading ahead, how does one train in order to be more fluent without stopping or stuttering? Tips?

I'm in this part of my training, too. With the script you're reading, a good idea I was given was to just try and focus on speaking well the first time around. Chances are, it's going to take practice and patience to get it down right. Think of it like warming up your vocal chords. You're going to also have to warm up your mental and verbal sync!
Don't be discouraged when you make a mistake. Instead, keep on reading the passage and trying to get as much of it right as you can. Then go back and try again instead of starting over. It really is just practice, practice, practice! I'm sure the more experienced people on here will tell you that it took them a bit to get this part down themselves.

I'm sure there are better exercises for this, but the one I do regularly is to read aloud. I've been reading to my kids every night for something like seventeen years. Of all the skills I've been trying to develop for voice acting, sight-reading is the only one I had any kind of leg up on, solely because of that.
If you don't have kids, check your local library and see if you can volunteer to do a regular reading session. The kids love it, the librarians can use it to draw patrons into the library, and it's a great opportunity to work on sight-reading and developing voices.
